African film festival in Wales

Watch-Africa will run the first African Film Festival in Wales.

With 12 feature Long Films; 4 Short Films; Q&A’s; Panel Discussions and Master-classes delivered by leading experts in the film industry, the festival celebrate African culture and arts through films, discussions and workshops….And all within 8 days.

There will be a scriptwriting workshop from one of the leading film-makers in Wales, Rungano Nyoni; a lecture on the innovative online platform for audience engagement through the Awra Amba Experience.

From Oscar nominated Kenyan film ‘Nairobi Half Life’; to a documentary made by the only filmmaker from Western World to have full access in filming and interviewing Robert Mugabe, ‘Mugabe:Villain or Hero’ to Fanie Foure Lobola, a rom-com from South Africa which through comedy and African humour explores the touchy but funny sensitive issue of cultural differences in post-apartheid South Africa.

There will be a variety of films ranging from comedy, documentaries and fictions and this is definitely not one to miss, Venus: Cardiff University Lecture Halls; The Culture and Media Centre (Flex Cinema) in Butetown and The Atrium in Cardiff.
